a few more updates

Since last I bloged Aaron has been to Louisiana twice for huricane relief. He also has bought another bike, it's a Vulcan drifter. It's pretty, but he plans to work on it a bit. Aaron wants me to help him choose a color scheme for it. Cool.

I have started to feel better and started many projects, probably more than I can handle. Let's see, there's carding cotton, making a sun hat out of grocery bags, crocheting winter hats, knitting a sweater, trying to get Aaron to make a lap loop for me, making a pattern and sewing a skirt, and other assorted endevours.

That's all I can think of to write right now.

Well, it's been well over a month since I blogged last and I need to get going on it again.

Let's see, updates, are there any updates? YES! Our house will be closing this coming week! No more double house payments! Also, with part of what we get from the house Aaron wants to get a really pretty new bike, it's called something like V-rod or something, I don't know ;) But I do know that it is loud and shinny. We still haven't agreed if we (I) want to spend that much money on something with only two wheels.

I recently found out how cool Craigslist.com is. I got a brand new Schwinn jogger/biking stroller for $85. That's an incredible price that I could not pass up, especially now that I am committed to start an exercise program. I tried walking with the kids in the wagon, but that was painful, and not in an "I'm going to get stronger" kinda way. It's already motivated Aaron to go on several bike rides with the kids.

The reason I have finally committed to exercise and started a program is because there is now no intimidating big hills like there is in the Salt Lake Valley. Everything is absolutely flat out here. So it doesn't matter which direction I run first because none of it will be up hill on the way home! It feels good to be moving and getting more aerobic, but it's hard for me to remember to take it easy and not go all out in the beginning. I went a little crazy when I first go the stroller and did a lot of biking. I didn't hurt the next day, so I went for a little bit of a harder ride. then that night I got a nasty soar throat cold and had to spend a couple of days in bed, and that is when the sore muscles kicked in. It made being sick that much more painful. Never-the-less, I look forward to feeling well all the way again and start moving again.

If anybody is interested in what I'm reading or have read, I've started keeping track on a website called coolreads.com. It's a website that my good friend Jen turned me on to. I don't have even a fraction of what I've read on there, but as I have time, and remember it all, I will get it on there.

All right, so that is it for now. I really need to start blogging more often, because who wants to read long boring blogs that loosely cover a month? I think short, frequent blogs are much more fun, informative and easy to read. So, taking a lesson from myself, I will be writing to you all in no latter than a week.

Sorry everybody. Just to clarify that last post, I meant my in-law's buyers. Aaron and my buyers are solid, they aren't going anywhere, so we just consider their buyers ours.

Well, here I am in the parking lot of another fast food joint using their wi-fi. I'm actually supposed to be looking for a job right now, but I have never had very much luck doing that online. I guess I'll have to go out and get turned down, or accepted face-to-face. ugh. I'm looking for a job that I won't feel bad for leaving after just a couple of months. This will just be so that we can pay mortgage and rent without Aaron having to sell his motorcycle. I just want to cry.

We went to the Memphis temple last night with our branch, it was nice. It was the second time I got to go this week. On Wednesday I went with the Young Women to do baptisms for the dead and last night was an endowment session. A boy in our branch went to receive his endowments in preparation for his mission. I wonder how he felt about it all, other than overwhelmed, that's just a given. When I went on Wednesday I felt so out of the normal flow that I am accustomed to. I didn't know that we had to bring our own towels, nobody told me that I was responsible for bringing them since I am in the Young Women's presidency. I also found out that you can't go just when ever you want, they don't hold the same kind of hours as large temples do. Also they don't have clothes to rent, so last night I had to borrow some that they keep on hand for the missionaries. It was a little frustrating for me, but while I was actually in the session everything felt right and regular. I don't get a whole lot of either of those anymore.

Well, back to looking for a job. It was really nice to see your responses, keep them up :) They make me feel less detached from you.

I know, I know, I know

All right, so we've been in Arkansas for a month now and I've blogged once.
Just to update you a little bit everything is pretty good, here anyway. Back in Utah however, the buyers for our house have fallen through, again. But we are healthy, happy, and in good company.

I am sitting out side of a McDonald's right now using their wi-fi. If that tells you anything I won't be able to blog again for a while

talk to ya'll latter.

New Information

Okay, Aaron's parents have found a buyer. They plan on closing on June 25.

Aaron is coming back into town on June 4th, about a week later we will be driving out to AR together as a family. After Aaron's parent's buyers close, then Aaron's parents close on our house, and we close on a house in AR then we will fly back to Salt Lake and get all of our stuff moved out.

I know it still sounds like every thing is up in the air, but this is the closest thing we have had to a real plan and dates. Their is a glimmer of hope.

This Old House

Aaron's mom and I painted my laundry room and kitchen ceiling today. Vaughn was an incredible "help". We stripped him down because I couldn't find his grunge clothes. Doesn't he really know how to rock a diaper and Sunday shoes? That's my boy ;)

Actually, he is totally Aaron's son. Vaughn knew what to do, like he was born to paint. That's how he has been when it comes to any remodeling projects at home. Vaughn watches and then becomes the pro.

Happy Burpday

My birthday was yesterday. For all those who are wondering, I am now 28. The day started out pretty good. I was in a good mood, motivated, and I successfully got Ethan off to school. Some friends from my ward took me out to lunch at Habenero's, then later my parents took me out to dinner at Fazoli's. The night before Aaron's parents took me out to dinner also, so I'm pretty sick of eating out. Any way after dinner I went to get my ears pierced. I lost my i.d. earlier in the day so I couldn't get my ears pierced (the lady said I looked too young, just what you want to hear on your birthday ;)) But she said if my mom had her i.d. she could sign on the parent consent line and I would be good to go. So there you go. I'm 10 years older than the legal age to get pierced on my own, but I still had to have my mom's "approval". Pretty funny.

Sorry to those who have the story already.

Today my family celebrated mine and my dad's birthdays. Russell gave me 3 really cool shirts. And my parents gave me a couple of stamping blocks and two books on copperplate calligraphy. I'm really excited about the books. It has been really easy for my to find Arabic and other style calligraphy books. I'm tired of that kind and look forward to the challenge of copperplate.

By the way my birthday didn't end up that great just because Vaughn got very sick and I had to go home with him instead of watching a movie with my family.

Aaron's parents got their house on the market yesterday. Today they had some one look at it. I'm very excited about it. Just seeing that lock box on their door made it all feel real, like I might actually get to live with my husband again.

Aaron will be coming home for a visit on the 30th. We are done working on his parent's house to get it ready for the market, so I'm guessing his time home will be spent working on our house again.

toe side

The other day I was looking at my legs and saw all the bruises I accrued last Monday while taking snowboarding lessons. I had a couple bruises on my right leg, but mostly on my left leg. I was falling a lot on my left side because I wasn't very good at turning left. Turning left required me to dig my toes in and that made me feel like I was going to fall on my face. None of my brothers, nor my husband, complained of bruising on one side more than another, much less being bruised at all. humph.

These are the requirements that must be met before I take snowboarding lessons again:

  • I must be in shape

  • I must go to Brighton (Nathan swears they give better lessons there.)

  • I must have a slammin' herring bone and corduroy snow suite.

For those very few that have read my blog and say to yourself "dang she needs grammar lessons." you are right. If you know of any online grammar tutorials that are basic, but particularly good let me know. I'm sure I won't bruise my self nearly as bad as I would with snowboarding lessons.

Aaron was out to visit for a few days. He went back just last Wednesday. It was a very nice visit, it wasn't as packed with working on the house. We were able to be together a lot more as a family.

fresh faced blogger

Greeting to every one!

My good friend Jen set me up and I'm ready to roll.

Updates

  • We are almost done with our house. We just have sideing and baseboards left to do. Plus a whole lot yard clean up.

  • We are moving to Arkansas for Aaron's job. I'm learning to be excited about it.

  • Aaron's parents will probably be the ones to buy our house :)

That's it for now. I'm off to learn more about that new fangled intranet.
